Specialist Therapy for Trauma, PTSD and Emotional Wounds

When something deeply painful has happened, or keeps happening, your body remembers, even if your mind tries to move on. You may not have the words, but the impact shows up in your nervous system, your relationships, your sleep, your boundaries and how safe you feel inside your own life.

At Care2Counsel, I offer trauma-informed therapy that helps you feel safe, understood and supported, at your own pace.

Be More You

I can help and support you with your trauma healing  journey.

What is Trauma?

Trauma isn’t just about one specific event, it’s about what happens inside you as a result of overwhelming or unsafe experiences. These can be obvious, like an accident or assault, or invisible and slow burning, like emotional neglect or generational expectations.

Trauma can leave you feeling:

  • Hypervigilant or anxious.
  • Frozen, numb or emotionally shut down.
  • Like you’re always “on edge”.
  • Unworthy, ashamed or deeply disconnected from yourself.

Types of Trauma I Support Clients With

Intergenerational Trauma

Inherited pain passed down through families, especially common in South Asian and migrant communities. You may carry beliefs, shame or emotional patterns that began long before you.

Enmeshment Trauma

When personal boundaries were blurred, and your emotional needs were neglected in favour of others, often in tightly knit or collectivistic families.

Domestic Violence Trauma

You may still be healing from being controlled, harmed or manipulated by someone close. Therapy helps you rebuild your voice, safety and self-trust.

Sexual Abuse Trauma

If you’ve experienced sexual trauma, whether recently or in childhood, therapy offers a space that is private, safe and trauma-aware. You will never be rushed or judged.

PTSD And Complex PTSD

You may be experiencing flashbacks, emotional shutdown, sleep disruption or emotional dysregulation. Together we can gently work with you and your nervous system to bring relief, regulation and understanding.

Developmental Or Attachment Trauma

Sometimes, trauma doesn’t come from “what happened,” but from what didn’t, the love, safety or emotional attunement that was missing in childhood. This can leave deep-rooted patterns of self-doubt, anxiety and people-pleasing.

How Trauma Therapy Works

Trauma therapy isn’t about “fixing” you. It’s about reclaiming the parts of you that had to shut down to survive.

We’ll work together gently and steadily, using a blend of:

  • Person centred therapy (you lead the pace and direction).
  • Neuroscience and neurobiology (understanding your nervous system).
  • Psychoeducation (so you know why you feel the way you do).
  • Cultural context (especially if you’ve experienced pressure, shame or silence around emotions).

Signs You May Be Living With Trauma

  • Feeling “too much” or “not enough”.
  • Always putting others first, to your own detriment.
  • Difficulty trusting others or yourself.
  • Physical symptoms with no medical cause.
  • Emotional flashbacks or mood swings.
  • Struggling to relax, even when life is “fine".
  • Feeling disconnected from your body or identity.

Why Choose Trauma Counselling at Care2Counsel?

  • Deeply informed - I integrate neurobiology, psychology and neuroscience so you understand what’s happening in your body and brain.
  • Culturally aware - especially for South Asian clients navigating guilt, expectations and silence.
  • Flexible and online - safe, private therapy sessions from the comfort of your home.
  • Relational and safe - we build trust together; there is no rush, no pressure and no judgement.
